VU7LD PRESS RELEASE – 12

December 27 , 2006

After 27 Days of operation VU7LD went QRT at 1300Z on Dec 27th. Stations are being dismantled and operators will be off the island in a couple of days.

We thank the entire Amateur radio community for their support and enthusiasm for this DXPedition as well as the people of Kavaratti who have been extremely helpful to the entire team.

We hope our efforts at raising awareness of Amateur Radio in the region will pay off, with hopefully a club station and a few permanent operators on the island.
